Colorado: A Land Through Time

Last Wednesday at approximately 7:00 p.m., 2007, we had a performance. It was called Colorado: A Land Through Time, as you can see from the title. For my part, I was a Spanish explorer named Francisco Coronado. The first time I heard that name I thought it sounded like San Francisco Colorado. Do you think so too? My mom told me to say, "My name is Francisco Coronado. You killed my father. Prepare to die!" But I didn't do that! I had to wear a gigantic sombrero that you could put a picnic on. You can see that from the video that you have already watched, or will watch later on. One time whenever we were rehearsing we were doing a dance. For one of the parts of my costume I had to have a serrape, otherwise known as a poncho. It was really long, so whenever we were doing the dance our music teacher said, "Stop!" I stopped and I was on my serrape. I skidded across the stage and fell! Then one of the teachers said, "Maybe you shouldn't wear that costume while you do the dance." And then whenever she turned away, I said, "YES!" and pulled my arm down in front of my face like on the movie Napoleon Dynamite. My mom and dad and brother and sister all came to watch me in my play. It turned out to be very good! I hope you enjoy the video (it got cut short, because it was supposed to be 5 min. but mom could only upload 2 min. so you won't see my last song.)

White things?

A few days ago there were white things in the air! I think it was called snow. It was very cold, and we played baseball. The snow was slippery so we got some boards and started to slide down a hill. The boards looked like turtle shells so we called it turtle boarding. It was very hard, but sometimes I would accidentally do a trick!

Colorado

We made it into Colorado a few days a go. The trip was very long. I didn't like it so much, so I had to entertain myself. To entertain myself I would read a book, look at a map, look out the window, or go to sleep. Zzzzzzzz. I'm glad that we're here now. Our house is very nice. Now we have stairs and we haven't ever had stairs. So a few days ago Annalisa was so tired that after the first 4 steps she laid down and fell asleep. After she woke up she said "My bed was too far!" I like our new house a lot.

The Shockwave

On Wednesday we went to Six Flags. We rode a lot of rides there. The last roller coaster that we rode was The Shockwave. The Shockwave had a shorter line than it usually does, so when we rode it the people that make it go said that we could ride again. So we did! And two times on The Shockwave is too much for Dad. He got sick after the end. Dad took the video the second time we were on the ride. Every time on the loops Jacob bends his head down as low as it can go! Whenever Dad was filming us the second time I was getting scared that he was going to let go of Mom's camera....but he had the strap on his arm so he wouldn't lose it!

DuckCrossing!

A few days ago we saw a mamma duck with her chicks crossing the road. The chicks were having a hard time getting up over the curb. We saw them on Highway 259, so there were a lot of cars. Once the chicks got over the curb, they were all walking together. Half of the chicks were black and yellow, and the rest were just yellow. The mamma duck kept talking to the chicks to get them to follow her. Whenever the mamma duck walked, her head moved back and forth. They went into an alley that was between a church and a tire place. I hope they found a pond to swim in!

All-Stars

This year I played baseball for the Blue Jays and the Red Sox. The Red Sox was a tournament team for 8-9 year olds and we played games on Saturdays. The Blue Jays was my home team and Jacob played on that team with me. We played during the week. When I played for the Red Sox, Peepaw and Granma would come to watch me play. Our team only lost 2 games. We got 1st place at 2 tournaments (Gladewater and Overton) and 2nd place at one tournament (Kilgore). Henderson was the only team that beat us. This past Saturday I found out I made ALL-STARS! I am excited about playing ALL-STARS because I get to play more baseball. My team will be almost all the same players as the Red Sox team, so I think we will be good. I have practice tonight at 6 at the baseball park. I have a practice tournament on Thursday-Saturday in Springhill and then the real ALL-STARS tournament will start on my mom's birthday in Jacksonville.

PARTY!

Saturday was Dawson's birthday. It seems like Dawson is a good friend. There were about fifty-six people there and most of them were friends! He is four now! His party was fun and the cake was good. The party was at a park on Shiloh Road in Tyler. His pinata was a guitar. Dawson called it a "letric tar". We played football and ate pizza. Dawson received a lot of gifts.
